Anna Snider

Anna is an MFA candidate in Fiction at New Mexico State University. Throughout the school year, she works as a graduate assistant in the Creative Media Institute, teaching college writing course. During the summer months, she works with the Deparment of Astronomy to write articles related to Sunspot Solar Obervatory and update content on the observatory's website.

Anna has a bachelor’s in Creative Writing from Guilford College, North Carolina, where she is from. She lives with her husband, dog, and cats in Las Cruces, where she is a regular at the coffeeshops the city has to offer. Interested in trying out multiple hobbies at a time, she swims, crochets, paints and is an ardent explorer of new places. She loves writing weird fiction and non-fiction, and hopes to publish a memoir some day.

In her opinion of Sunspot, “There is more than meets the eye. It seems like it won’t be as grand or as full of history as it is. The location is unbelievable and a breath of fresh air coming from a place like Las Cruces. It’s just an amazing place to see at least once in your life and more, if you’re lucky enough to get to know the place and the people.”
